This seems like a great method, but once you have done the redirect, couldn't the other webmaster see that the inbound link from your site has disappeared using whatever backlinking tools? Are we just relying on the webmaster being too lazy/stupid/incompetent to see that the link from your site...

It's definitely not illegal. Unethical? Eh, depends on who you ask.

How heavily are these forums moderated? Will they get spammed to death and then removed?
