I got penalized by manual action, reaason spam, if i modify the content and google approve my website again, my website will be ranked?? i was first on some keywords, will this affect the seo?

Update, just recived the maanual action, google said that i need to modify content and re-submit ... i will kep you informed if i can get my site back
