I've had a similar experience actually... there was a large gap between uploads (about a month), but when I started again, my videos started doing significantly worse... my account is relatively new, but these last couple of uploads have been the worst performing of all time. Not a bad idea, but you'll probably need to have a channel that's already monetized first (may set you back anywhere from $375-$575 the way the current market is looking). I don't think YouTube is allowing these types of TTS channels through to the YPP anymore, I've seen some monetization...
