Depends on your target audience. Pinterest is good for fashion. LinkedIn is good for B2B. Ultimately, you should be signed-up to Facebook and Twitter as they're the two most popular. Google+ is also great for SEO last time I checked.

Not sure if you can "generate" the content as you are talking about, but there are a few alternatives to writing which are easier, albeit lower quality. You can use spinning software such as WordAi, or voice recognition software such as Dragon Naturally Speaking. Hope that helps!

The articles don't necessarily have to be short, it depends on the audience really. Generally a higher word count of at least 1,500+ is best for website content, if I remember correctly. However, do make sure that your articles are concise, try to avoid fluff/filler content as much as possible...
