Totally agree. We've seen no major dips in traffic or SEO stats over the past 3 years just steady growth. Consistency with link building and content really does keep things moving.

It’s not bad if your tier 2 links are decent quality and look natural. Just avoid spammy, mass made profiles pointing straight to your site. Mix up anchors, keep the link velocity steady, and focus on relevance. If the links are clean, pointing some directly wont hurt.
