If your basic hosting package is making you worried, then imagine how many clients /customers are leaving you in droves because of it? If you don't like, or more importantly, if you don't trust the service, then it's time to move on. Otherwise it's just wasted life and no gain.

I know some great reseller packages as well. There are some really great offers around if you know where to look.

Some services offer an extra ip address for a dollar or two extra a month. Have you checked this out? It might be something to ask Hostgator's customer services about.
