Fully agree with you. Seems like 90% of apps/social media platforms are using user's data in different ways and do great money on that. But people got used to the fact that if the app is widely promoted and used by many, it means that it's fully trustful. And not a single news about data leak...

What do you mean? Which cool application will take a lot of time?? Personally I believe that what will take a lot of time is people's understanding of online privacy and security. They'll continue using popular applications, not caring of their data leak.
