Using Qemu you con do even better using overlay, so you don't need to clone the entire machine ... the modification goes to the overlay file .... I you can delete when you have finish.

I wrote a guide about how to use tor and iptables in order to make apps and/or virtual machines to connecto to internet with different IPs. It explains how to setup multiple tor as socks proxy with different exit nodes and how to make any app to connect to any of them. It works very well also...
