I started with C# (that's what we studied in high school) and then I continued to Java and now I'm programming in Android (which is basically Java with a little bit of new code for mobile)
What I do on my sites is I offer people free stuff - but not just unuseful stuff, but really something they can find helpful (like a good ebook for example), and only after they get my stuff I ask them to leave their email address
I must say this was a great thing to read, you have many great points there. I think that everyone who wants to get serious in their business online MUST read such posts before any decision to accelerate or spend a lot of time/money on anything.
I'd suggest you start looking into Kindle publishing. It only seems saturated but once you invest the time and really get the idea of how to out-compete the other books - you can make load of money. I currently make 200$ a week and it's improving (I only have 4 books)
Google has their special algorithms that change once in a while, and when they change all the SEO methods that worked might be useless. I don't like to pay for SEO packages because of that. I don't believe anyone who claims he has the ultimate solution or ultimate method for making my content...
