Agreed this should make the number a bit more honest. I'm curious how DR4 treats names whose score came from 301s off expired domains, because if the rating drops and traffic stays put that's more of a recount than a Google signal

I'd also look at the history of the page you're getting the link from. If it's a buy or a 301 off an expired name, high DR is often painted on, and search cares more about topical fit and whether that page actually lives on its own

Spam score alone tells you very little, I check the referring domains first, real sites with traffic or a link selling network. On aged domains I always pull Wayback for the last couple years too because casino or pharma history kills it even when the links look clean now
