Maybe the niche is not good enouf. What is the rank for the best seller in your niche? And maybe the cover/description and book quality is suck :) you need to analise those elements.

100% agreed I am spending a LOT of time on research the right niches and the keyboards. Those books are not on sell yet, hope to publish this week.

By the way, i have a few kids books that cost me thousands of $$ (expensive HQ illustrations). I made a mistake with market research, as i through they cost 2.99$ per book. (this is what i saw from my country, but later, i found out that the cost for US and UK is only 0.99 for those books) So...

And somebody asked about kids books... Imho, it's not the best niche, as the competition is huge and price is very low. (0.99)

I can't understand how it's possible in romance, or do you mean other genders? It's just 2 options: 1) stand alone novel, and than it's end up with happy ending (they are married and happy) :) 2) cliffhanger that lead to second part of the series. If you make anything else beside those options...

If the niche is not popular, with a low ranking - you will not make money. It's as simple as that. if all the profitable topics are out of your interest, than, yes, you have to see your soul to make a buck :) The thing is...there is so many niches to chose from, maybe you just don't understand...

I am not native English speaker as you can see, but i have a great editors from USA. Bisides, even with my poor English, i can see if the writing is good or bad, it's not that complicated...
