Maybe the niche is not good enouf. What is the rank for the best seller in your niche? And maybe the cover/description and book quality is suck :) you need to analise those elements.

100% agreed I am spending a LOT of time on research the right niches and the keyboards. Those books are not on sell yet, hope to publish this week.

By the way, i have a few kids books that cost me thousands of $$ (expensive HQ illustrations). I made a mistake with market research, as i through they cost 2.99$ per book. (this is what i saw from my country, but later, i found out that the cost for US and UK is only 0.99 for those books) So...

I knew someone will come up with it, hehe Well, check the overall ranking/numbers. Also, check the pricing and the competition. If you able to write the next "Harry Potter", you will make millions, and you know that. But most of us can't :)

And somebody asked about kids books... Imho, it's not the best niche, as the competition is huge and price is very low. (0.99)

Pinger030 You outsourced the writing, right? So you can outsource the plot outlines as well. of-course research first, other way, they can write you something with zero potencial.

Well, i understand how to torn a story to a series, it's not a problem. But, readers need to know it at first place. For example to call a book: " book 1 in xxxxx series" But when you do stand alone, and than make part 2 - it can piss a lot of people and i can understand why. I make a lot of...

Yea, i mean genre, sorry :) " -Second book: Marriage enters its 'slump' phase at the same time that the main female character meets another guy who makes her feel the way her husband used to make her feel. This story is about her falling in love with the other guy, with the cliffhanger being...

I can't understand how it's possible in romance, or do you mean other genders? It's just 2 options: 1) stand alone novel, and than it's end up with happy ending (they are married and happy) :) 2) cliffhanger that lead to second part of the series. If you make anything else beside those options...

GringoMonkey But, if the pilot making 3 sales a day, why do you think it will take 50 days to get your money back? In my case, first 10 days the sells are much better, and than it's go down and down. It's not remain in the same level. And how can you scale to a serials...do you mean that if...

If the niche is not popular, with a low ranking - you will not make money. It's as simple as that. if all the profitable topics are out of your interest, than, yes, you have to see your soul to make a buck :) The thing is...there is so many niches to chose from, maybe you just don't understand...

GringoMonkey Yes, i agree with your points. " I could pay shitty writers who actually told good stories and then edit them ", but even this is not so easy to find. I mean, many of the shitty writers - have no idea how to tell a good stories. They don't understand the formula of successful...
