I'm not Nick, but I'll explain for him.
Those looking for cheap writers are looking for somebody capable of putting words together. Doesn't matter how crappy the words are. The "skill" in question would be putting words together.
On the other hand, the actual "skills" (that cost more) are...
Agreed. There is nothing wrong with that if it's a fair income for you. Please look at the quote on Page 1 of this thread to see where the "I like to exploit people" comment occurs. I don't see paying low rates to writers who accept low rates as a problem... I only saw the comment he made as a...
1) Anytime, but it's ma'am.
2) Are you asking me what's wrong with exploiting people or wanting anyone to live a miserable life?
3) If so, I won't dignify it with a response. I don't feed trolls.
As for the rest of what you just said, I'll agree with (most of) it again. There's nothing wrong...
Believe it or not, real quality content has nothing to do with English class. It has to do with a real passion for word artistry. My English teacher would hate the way I write. I use comma splices. My grammar isn't 100% Oxford English Dictionary perfect. That's not the stuff that gets results...
^I was all about to agree with that guy, until I read...
You sir, are a turd maggot for that.
As to the OP-- everyone else on here already covered it. On a forum for black-hatters, you'll find clients that are looking to take shortcuts in *everything*.
Don't hate! That is like walking into...
After reading through this post, I placed a bet with an associate over what the rates would be. I had him marked at $1/page, so I lost the bet. But he's looking to spend about $160/ebook so it does still qualify under the "not worth your time" if you actually ARE a quality writer.
Some of this is helpful for newbies starting out bare-bones. I'd add a few extra hosts and WP theme sources myself, but don't see a need to as the brunt of the information is Domain/Host/Content/Monetize and that's good.
But I have another opinion I DO need to add. Two, actually.
First, I...
Well here's some tips:
If you don't want a cookie cutter website, don't hire random freelance/strangers and don't hire one because they are cheap. Look at portfolios and experience if you want somebody reputable who can deliver what you want.
But if you REALLY would rather do it all by...
No but I have heard that there is still legislation being pushed that threatens our right to privacy (which is already a joke) and other elements similar to SOPA. Also saw something on Facebook today that they are trying to grant the FBI ability to read emails without a warrant.
Let me answer this with another question: What kind of clients will you work for? If you build and optimize websites intended for humans, then please learn about related skills including branding, marketing, copywriting, graphic design, etc. I don't mean you need to be able to do these things...
PM sent, looking forward to the juicy details!
And I think you do get it. I'm not saying that branding is more important than awareness either... just that most SEO providers are so concerned with following systems and formulas to *get there*, that they neglect what is REALLY important. I guess...
That is a good concept, but not the point I was making. I did not imply that great content will help you rank. I am only saying that the goal of obtaining the rank is simply a marketing strategy. That branding is more important, because what good is the #1 spot if it isn't for the long term?
Thank you, but I'm a nice girl. Not guy.
I don't know why I should think you are trying to pick on me?
Finally, this post isn't meant to promote the need for quality content. It simply uses content (my expertise) as an example of how SEO is often misunderstood. So to elaborate on the point I...
