I'm sorry I can't help you actually answer your question, but have you considered using Drupal Commerce instead of Ubercart? I think Commerce is more future proof and has more potential. It has a higher learning curve though, but projects like Commerce Kickstart do help a lot to get you started...

Have you got the research to back up your statement? I have read about G+ having some value, though it's certainly not a big influence. I myself haven't done the research so I'm not saying it's true or false, but seemingly you know more, can you prove it?

I'm not entirely sure of it, but I think that's not really a problem since it's a link from 1 site, added 1 time. It's not like you're building 17K spam links on different sites in 1 run.
