Thanks for the info proxygo I won't be marketing my programs. I mostly make proxy programs anyways. Like port scanners and proxy checkers. About TP3 I tried it on 2 desktops and 1 laptop. 2 have XP Pro SP3. One has Windows 7 32 bit running. They all failed with a error message. TP2 works fine...

running squid is pretty straight forward, you can always ask your question in the squid help section on their site. You didn't really clarify what you wanted to edit in your squid.conf file. It's pretty easy though and running Squid is a great choice.
