Your site makes $3-5 per day? If it's solid and stable you might charge a year's income for the site. That is if the site is scalable and revenues could increase with marketing.
Blackhat is the right choice when it comes to monetizing from SEO. Whitehat is nice if you have something really unique that stands out by itself so that everyone "naturally" links to you. If Matt Cutts wasn't who he is and had a blog, nobody would even bother looking it up.
I know .edu used to be very good, not sure how they are after all the updates.
Does anyone know if foreign .edu and .gov are also as beneficial? For example gov.uk
