To a good SEO this doesn't mean much anyone worth a damn can rank a non competitive longtail in a couple days. However, it is impressive to a client that has no idea what is going on.

Do some good onpage optimization so that between your title, description, and post url you are covering a wide variety of keywords. And get some high quality, high pr, relevant back links. Starting with an aged domain would really give you a boost as well.

A tool will never be as good as your own research. Between the keyword planner, sales copy of what you are looking to promote, and your own logic you will be able to come up with much better keywords than a tool.

Keep in mind though that if your main site has a high pr that means it probably has some decent links going to it. While that alone wont rank your site, the incoming links will if you optimize your site properly while also making sure that you are moving the link juice around your site...

I think it is safe to say that the best backlinks now are from High PR, High DA (with High DA being the best). They take a little more work but time has shown that these links could really go the distance if they are done properly. Especially if you create your own pbn.
