Nobody will know that it is a fake account and nobody will care if it is john johnson or peter peterson. So the only risk is losing the group because of locked down, not because users will lose interest by discovering not real name.

How do you mean? They give you good time (like days) to verify your account (and people say their accounts stay operational during that time). Or is it old news and thy changed this?

I read than when they ask you to verify, they give you some time (days or 1-2 weeks) to do so. During those days you are allowed to use your account. The question is - is your account fully operational during that period (like you can do everything including adding new admin to your group)...
