Just a thought but why not contact seller directly and just work with him on selling you the item directly through Paypal services maybe? I'm sure that he wouldn't mind avoiding those eBay fees.

I have learned that social media is the best free traffic (Instagram, Pinterest, twitter), but like you said there is a big chance customers have already seen the same product. You could also try posting on facebook groups with a lot of members, although not all fb group will allow this.
