It could be down to what type off accounts they were and nothing to do with the strategy, if it's accounts Insta does not like as in mother/child accounts or spamming accounts for example then they could have been banned anyway regardless I only have client accounts that post their own content...

To be honest I have no idea what Insta can and can't see, they are probably looking at your face through your web cam!! It would not surprise me if they can see what ip you open the email through if they have association with the email providers?
