what alternatives to Wordpress do I have?
Except for the limited theme availability, HTMLy seems to be the most appropriate choice for your requirements. I use it myself and am very satisfied with it, especially with the latest updates (custom fields, 2FA, etc.). You can also look at Bludit, unfortunately almost all metadata are stored...- NoBS
