Not sure on the specifics of your case but try to build out your local citations first. I.e. if goog is giving you issues with the name, build out a fb page, open a yelp page, add your biz on bing map, etc. Make sure the name you choose are all the same for consistency. Wait a week for Google...

I've tried one of those. Did nothing for my eye strain... What I found helped is installing f.lux. I think it's free or at least mine was. You set it to your coordinates and it'll automatically change your comp colors to be warmer/cooler depending on time

you can definitely add global locations to your GMB. If you're considering service area businesses, just make sure you have a legit presence or a way to verify those locations. Might want to partner with a local agency - might just save you from potential headaches down the line.
