To make it short: Yep. Wordpress is totally fine for what you're planning to do.

Wordpress will not really become slower with the amount of posts. But it's kind of slow by default, compared to what is possible. It might be a problem when the workload gets too much, but I guess once you'll reach the point, you'll have enough money to get a decent server to solve this problem.

Keep it up! Hope you'll get to stable about of money without having to worry to much about it!

Don't take me wrong but I doubt you can As most people struggle to only even master one of those. Focus on one of them and take a look at offline money making. If you know what you're doing, call some smaller companies in your area and offer your service. Not everything has to happen online :)

From my experience, there's nothing better than Themeforest. Alot of products, great service and low prices.

For web related stuff, Photoshop for sure. If you're more into print/offline, go for InDesign, logo creation Adobe Illustrator.

Better than alot of stuff out there, yet it look's a bit boring. Maybe think about using some patterns for the background or atleast a gradient to "pimp it up" a bit.
