Hey guys, just wanted to update. I surpassed my goal of 8,000 followers by the end of February!! I'm hoping to break 10,000 by the end of March, at which point I will start considering ways to monetize the account. Thanks for reading.

Same thing happened to me with several accounts. I decided to write a macro with iMacros for Firefox. I've been following about 1k/day & have had no problems so far. It took me 10 minutes to write, and all I have to do is start it & specify how many I want to follow.

OP, I'm pretty sure you can't use the Instagram write API without having special privileges. Any application can read from the API, but only a select few can write. You could probably use http calls to get around it, but I haven't really looked into that.
