it's the likes per posts rate , say in current state i have an average of 300 likes per post , if i remove them all and keep on posting and receiving (~900 -700 likes ) per post , it'll be an average of 800 likes per post , that boosts the engagement rate significantly , i hope you get the idea

are you sure ? because when it happened to me , if i try manually it will say Following but if i refresh the profile the button Follow returns

Hello , it happened to me too , and it was because ig blocked my acc from following/unfollowing for few days , try pausing following/unfollowing for a day or 2 then retry
