The site isn't targeted to mainland China, it's targeted to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and overseas Chinese communities where adult sites are not banned. As to your second point as there not being a good way to convert Chinese language traffic into $$$, well that's an issue I'm sure you know more...
