I don't have the experience that bryanon does but the one piece of advice I can offer you is make sure there is something you do better than the seller so you can grow the site. For example, if you are good at SEO, or building a community, or whatever, find a site where the seller isn't.

That's interesting. I checked out one of the sites on YSE and there were probably 20-30 different .gov and .edu sites linking in. I visited a few and they looked exactly the same as the one you linked to.

The most effective thing I have seen for charities is to get a twitter account and tweet every celebrity you can think of asking them to tweet about your site. If even a few do it you'll get thousands of hits plus many of their followers will re-tweet what they wrote.

You're right, I don't see it either. The coder that originally released the template created a subscription service, "idiotquery", that offers a lot of templates and random question solving. When you click on the "New Template System Available Here" it takes you to that thread. I guess he wants...

I didn't want to say that because like I said, I haven't used LFE in a while. I would recommend Sick Submitter then. It has a fairly active community developing templates for it and the software gets updated pretty frequently.

Sick Submitter does a good job with WPMU. I haven't used LFE in a while so I can't compare the two.
