Nice thread OP. Don't forget to include these: - Use the URL itself as the anchor text. - Use your site domain in articles but without hyperlink (as plain text). - Use generic keywords used like "click here", "here", "click to visit", etc. Also, making contextual links remains important as always.

Analytics is more of a trap than Webmaster tools. When you do the verification process for Webmaster tools, you just have to add a meta tag, upload an html file or add a DNS record. Thus no javascript codes are embedded on your site and it is pretty much safe since they can't track anymore than...

I use LED monitor along with anti-reflective specs. Also keeping brightness at lowest and using flux helps a lot.

I highly doubt Matt would play such a joke. Search Engine Land is itself a very reputed source for SE related news so they too wouldn't do it. And it isn't April 1. :p
