I suggest you use them both. Each one has it's one advantages. When using Squidoo, hubpage, wiki space and so on- you can get indexed really fast. When you have your own domain, you can have full control on the applications and the server.

I agree, the average Adsence is around 20 cents a click. Something must be wrong there. However, notice that the conversion is also strange. 600 clicks out of 1700 visitors might look to them as spam which can explain the ridiculous amount you earned. Email them about it.
