300dpi was my first reply for prints :) and OP did not specify how he was printing foil. And they are rasterizing their image if you read the thread, but I'm not sure you can see that far from that tall ass horse!

Printing foil will depend on what type of foil you have, what you are printing it on, as well as what printer you are using. Digitally printing foil is you need to go very high with the dpi, some websites suggest 2000dpi.

Generally rule of thumb is 72 pixels/inch (dpi or ppi) for web images. "High resolution" images, usually prints, are 300+ ppi. Web images over 1500x1000 pixels at 72ppi will be large and sharp. High resolution in quotes as you can technically increase resolution by increasing ppi which will...
