The problem is someone else did an article on the same niche as you on forbes and google prefers that over your article. I can almost guarantee this is the issue. If you do a new niche it will rank immediately but if it is competitive google must chose which of the many forbes articles on "vpn"...

@fasttrak have you found a way of getting your subreddit better in organic, ie. add links to make sure google likes it more
