I disagree here, If OP only inserts the sim into the gsm and not an actual phone. The worst that can happen is they can ping a tower on where the text is sent..- Magic Michael

You cant create a custom sender id with a gsm. a sim card must go in the gsm modem in order to conduct a sendout. secondly, whatever number is on the simcard will be the number the receiver sees.- Magic Michael
