imo KEYCaptcha is the best alternative to typing captchas. Ads Captcha is a nice way to make money from visual captchas, search "ads captcha" in google. You might also try a video ad captcha. But video captchas are really annoying sometimes.

If you are talking about the thumbnail of videos on Google, it would be controlled by the web app displaying the video. Are you using a YouTube clone or something? (you need to give more info in order for me to give a good answer)

If you know PHP/html then you can use "simple html dom", its a nice data scraping library. If you just want a software that will save to an SQL db file, then I would recommend "helium scraper". (google whats in the quotes to find them)
