just put the https://url.com into to google and if it's there it's there, if it's not it's not. If it doesn't index for 2-3 weeks, find an indexing service, or if it's a particular high value post, run a couple of quality links towards it.
You can run a content gap analysis on your competitors, any keywords you are missing build content around.
More content = more keywords.
You'll need to build backlinks anyway, need to keep the domain power growing.
Always used yoast, but only use it for the basics you need, dont get carried away with all the green lights, and readability scores etc, that's all nonesense.
