Just a word of caution for the social fans/followers - they very rarely stick for google+ (they'll stick for like 5-7 days, long enough for you to give feedback and then G removes them) and the facebook/twitter ones will often get your accounts banned. You don't want to waste your cool twitter...

More than 5 years later this is still good advice, and you can adapt to other niches.
