I don't mean to be offensive but it is your fault that you are not making money your not simply unlucky. My guess is that you are trying a bit of everything without actually seeing anything through to the end, if you persevere with a method you will make money but it does take time.

$30 is not a lot but you could buy a domain name and some hosting and try to make some money through Adsense.

Quite a few of the backlinks checkers will not be working properly anymore because yahoo sit explorer closed down and they used that. I think backlinkwatch.com is still working so you could try that and see what results you get.

If you could prove to him that you are ranking for competitive keywords that not many people could do he might ease up a bit. How you do that is up to you.

He is paying you $480 a week so if you think you can make that or more with an extra 40 hours a week, and it sounds like you can, then quit working for him.
