Is it possible to get an ip from an account or MAC address without the police or Instagram actually helping?

There is a kid at my high school who is trolling the heck out of a lot of us. I was wondering if there is a way to get the ip from an account rather than contact my local police and Instagram corp.

Is there a bot or a software design that will allow you to favorite every tweet someone has posted? I have been looking around for one but I can't find one.
