My understanding is that an aged account, even if it is dead or static, will have more authority in search and ranking than a brand new channel. Is this not true?

FYI, when you upload a short, it picks the exact middle of the video to extract the clip. An easy way to get the thumbnail you want is to have a static picture play for around 1s near the middle.

Somewhat competitive. It is going to be documentary style. Should an aged account have videos or not?

Looking for options on this. I am started a new channel that will have very high quality videos that are around 20 minutes long. Would it be best to start from scratch, or do you get any kind of boost from posting from an aged channel? I understand if I buy something with subs and views already...
