Take it how you want. The people taking works from artists and using them haphazardly aren't innocent. I didn't put the images on their web sites. They did.
If you haven't read previous posts ill reiterate that I am a client of pic-rights. They have the majority of my portfolio and find a few unauthorized uses a month. Typically the images are taken from my web site, social media or news stories. You can call it a scam but this "scam" recovers...

Yeah and the firm will sue for much more than 700 euro and win. This will not just go away as I said before. All the people on here gave you some pretty terrible advice.
From my experience on the other side you could try a counter offer as they do accept those from time to time.
Not my job to. If I had to ask every person who lifted my work from the internet and put it on their web site or blog to stop id be sending a few dozen emails a week. When you spend tens of thousands of hours mastering a craft, offer that work for sale and people circumvent that and just take it...
Call it what you will but he used the image. Just because he took it down doesnt mean its over and done. It varies country to country but in France its similar to the USA where we can see judgements for 130k per infringement.
A couple years ago I had an eCommerce web site steal 3 of my images...
You can call BS all you want but at the end of the day if their claims are in fact correct and you are in a country where they have a law firm as a partner you are going to end up paying more if you ignore it. Obviously there is the chance that you are being scammed by someone with the picrights...

I'm posting this again because the first go around it turned out to be a scam artist who's account got banned here....Glad paypal is a thing. I need to blue check verify an Instagram account with a USA phone number attached. I bet there is someone on here who can get this done :)
