GD Renewal 35REN414 just used this from the UK at $9.74 / 6.09 GBP

I also just tried this method and it worked for me, the new domain has got similar rankings after just 2 days, hopefully they will stay for a while. I still have a really old domain that got hit in 2012 that I never really tried to sort out so I will give that a try to see if this method works...

I now use GD to initially get domains and then turn off auto renew within their control panel and then I transfer the domains to Name a few days before the renewal date and this currently costs $8.25 Currently the next years renewal costs the same at Name so currently costs $8.25 not like...

Just tried KIWI from the UK and does not work any longer, best I could find were all $1.49 codes - I used '149scott' rajiced - When you register a domain I think you can't transfer it between registrars for 60 days.
