The best method I've seen to promote stuff on Youtube is to have one video on one channel. Doesn't matter what you're promoting competition is huge and someone can flag your video. You can create channel with the keyword you're targeting and it helps to specify your message not sure about rank.

I agree they have a good marketing. It really up to you if you want to SPAM people or not. In my opinion strategies there are quite useful and helps in any business. I can't agree with all methods but you have your own brain and decide what is the best for your business.
