I have always used Google Keyword planner. I've dabbled in SEMRush as well.

Yeah, adwords is way more targeted. Facebook is nice because of the demographics, but still, there's a lot more people that will see your ad on Google rather than on their Facebook newsfeed.

It's hard to get conversions through Facebook in my experience. I'd definitely turn to Google Adwords for something like this in the future, however, Facebook is great for gaining exposure to your brand.

Yeah, definitely depends on what your end goal is. If you're trying to get sales - Google is the way to go. Brand awareness - Facebook. However, I've run successful Facebook campaigns that have translated into conversions. Google just does it in a more cost effective way.
