I think RTs are really important. You can't beat a couple of RTs from a big trusted account in a niche. The visibility you get in 24 hours can really boost an account to new levels that would take many days of manual work. So that's something to consider depending on your niche, and goals.

No it will not do much. It can help with giving you more prestige, and playing a game of psychology, but I wouldn't recommend it.
