Ditch the white/black combo for sure. Add an email subscribe and RSS feed icon at minimum. Ditch the adsense for sure - it's an eyesore and not likely to pay much. Might consider post/review excerpts only on the homepage and links to 'read more' for each one. Right now the UX is all handled...
