Yep it may seem so. So far I don't really know about the monetization. We will see in the future. I am sure it could help, but IMO there are millions of monetization techniques available. All that matters in the end is driving traffics. The whole play should become statistics in the end.

Make a search for a favicon in google. Thats what its called. There are some online free tools to make them. If I am right they are either 16x16px, 32x32px, or some bigger sizes which arent supported backwards.
