My trick for images is to flip the image horizontally. You can do it in Photoshop or Google "flip image horizontally" This passes the Google similar image test so I am sure it will get by Facebook.

I would try putting the jokes in an image. The image is more likely to be shared. You could also do a share contest where you pick a random winner who shared a post.

I would set up a small landing page and or website that has some related content on it and then drive traffic to the page with FB ads. This would also let you test what offers you are promoting.
