From what I heard, making forum profiles is good...but also for a period of time. Most forums delete your profile if you don't actively participate. So, try to post at least 1 time per month to make it stick. Thank you for the share.

You may be right, but this is how I see thinks: sometimes when you start in an industry you have no previous experience, what really matters is knowing what you should never do, not what you should do. If you start with the wrong foot, you can be out in seconds.

It's great to index your site, but I don't place a lot of accent to indexing my sites, because there are people who managed to index 100.000 pages or more and that didn't help a bit in ranking.

It certainly depend on the niche, but it should appear more natural to G to continue building backlinks and not only that. Try to add more fresh and qualitative content to your site.
