the only way is to test it. I am a data guy and you can maybe run a few tests to see. The only problem I can foresee is a long-term "pattern" where you get constantly those 100 super-engaged views and way less engagement later on.

My experience is it doesn't work if they come from a panel. I tested a few videos with 3K+ views and 70%+ view rate, they are not even in the first 10 pages of the targeted tags with SEO optimized title, description, etc. This is MY personal experience.
