I use what I feel is best. That used to be google, no question,. But in the last year, ive found the quality of the results to be poor quite often and I decided to commit to using DDG for a while. I now find DDG at least as good in terms of quality, and far better in terms of UX.
I've got a youtube embed site that's currently getting about 1K uniques a day (US/EU), I'm not running any ads on the site at all.
I'm tempted to run adsense but wondering if anyone has a better solution; I'm thinking adsense will inevitably ban me for duplicate content (or is that not true?)...
companies like shutterstock have bots that spider and analyse images for infringing content, removing the watermark will not make the image any less detectable (in fact that is one of the things they look for), nor will adjusting colours or rotation/flipping.

you could also plant content on your site which will affect their sites negatively, assuming they are automating it. Just make sure G and co never see it on your site. Ideally delete it when you know they've scraped it.
