I know of a little blog buying all insentivised traffic and making a killing on add space. Good content and real traffic (obviously) has more staying power.

Fake likes tank engagement, they have to be used very strategically. It seems to be effective for validation reasons right before you know you are going to get an on slot of real traffic.
