They aren't charging the fee for "customer service" support.
The fee is for "software" support. Meaning updating the software version so that it still works with updates the social media sites make to combat the use of software like this.

They've been in the business of selling lifetime licenses for years at this point.
Many, many people will be unable to get a refund from them. It's not as simple as "anyone who doesn't like it can get a refund," here.
If FL sticks with this plan of action then they could possibly be driven out...

Under the "pay once, use for life" model, FL thinks they've already got all the money they're going to get from most of their current customers. So now they're saying "fuck you" to us because they think we aren't worth anything more to them anyway.

I'm a FL customer but I haven't received any email saying I have to pay a monthly fee. If I do get that email then I will have no problem starting a Shit List thread and raising hell about the change in agreement. At the very least, existing customers should be given a refund if they don't wish...
